Katy spent the first years of her adult life as a successful top fashion model in Queensland, Australia, and after getting married, she qualified as a Speech and Drama teacher, and worked from home whilst raising her family.

Two major operations left her weak and bored, and a cousin suggested she join her in some art classes to alleviate the boredom of recovery.  She enjoyed these, and quickly developed a Naïve style of her own, which bore no relation to the formalities of the art classes.  In order to develop her style, and on the advice of her tutor, Katy reluctantly ended the classes.

She entered some pieces in local art exhibitions, and was delighted to see people crowding around her work.  The Sunday Mail Colour Magazine subsequently ran a feature on her, and in 1987 she decided to devote herself full time to painting life in Australia in her own inimitable, humorous style

Since then Katy has documented le, and has had many limited edition print runs and commissions.  Her colourful work is crammed with little people going about the serious business of enjoying the great Australian outdoors, and she is archived in the Queensland State Library.

Katy has exhibited in Queensland House in London, and her prints adorn the walls of hospitals and doctors and dentist’s surgeries throughout Queensland.

Katy has had long contact with MisterDenham.com, and we are proud to present a selection of her paintings here for your enjoyment.
